Opigno LMS User manual

Upgrade without Composer

This assumes that you are already using Opigno 2.x (this does not cover upgrading from Opigno 1.x branch)

The upgrade process is very similar to the one related to a Drupal website.

First, like for any upgrade, make sure to do a full backup of your site (files and database).

The steps are the following ones:

  1. put your website in maintenance mode
  2. download Opigno LMS from our website: https://www.opigno.org/en/download
  3. extract the files and move them to your webserver to replace the existing ones (in case you made changes to .htaccess file, make sure not to overwrite them)
  4. visit in a web browser your Opigno website and run updates ("/update.php")
  5. follow the steps
  6. in case you applied some patches to your Opigno instance, check if the patches are still required with the new version, and, if so, apply them again
  7. if no error occured, put the website out of maintenance
  8. if you installed addition contrib modules using the instructions you should not replace your "composer.lock". But you need to replace "composer.json" and add all required packages from previous file to a new. After that, you should run the command: "composer install".
